Am I wrong to think if their parents can afford to buy them nooks, they can afford to buy a Players Handbook? Particularly because, again-- we play at a local comic book/game shop. Which sells the PHB and other gaming books.
Editing to clarify: From what I can tell, the kids do not own a physical copy of these books. They are relatively new players. Download sandisk u3 launchpad pro. This isn't a case of having a digital copy of something you already bought.

I think my question/concern/dilemma might be distilled down to a question of whether the gamer community has a responsibility to encourage children to support the local game shop financially, or if we're all 'MYOB' about it. On the one hand: Doesn't it take a village? On the other: Kids should be allowed to find free ways to play games so when they have money, they will want to spend it on the game.
